Injuries

Tennessee Titans: S Xavier Woods left in the first half with a hamstring injury and did not return. S Mike Brown (ankle) and S Kevin Winston Jr. (hamstring) also left in the first half and did not return. G Kevin Zeitler (groin), WR Van Jefferson (back) and LB Cedric Gray (concussion) all left during the second half. OT Dan Moore Jr. was a pregame inactive with a neck injury, with Olisaemeka Udoh starting in his place.

San Francisco 49ers: DT Jordan Elliott was a pregame scratch after injuring his knee before kickoff. WR Ricky Pearsall hurt his ankle on the first play from scrimmage but returned and finished with six receptions for 96 yards. He left again late in the fourth quarter with a knee injury. G Spencer Burford also hurt his ankle during the game but returned.

Three numbers defined this game: 37 minutes of San Francisco possession time against 22 for Tennessee, a 9-of-15 third-down conversion rate for the 49ers against the Titans’ 3-of-9, and zero punts for San Francisco in 74 offensive snaps. Jeffery Simmons recorded a sack, a forced fumble, and a touchdown catch in the same game, only the sixth time that had happened since sacks became an official stat in 1982. Tony Pollard’s 104 rushing yards made it back-to-back 100-yard games for the Titans’ running back, but Tennessee’s inability to stay on the field, stop the run of the clock, or generate sustained pressure on Purdy meant Pollard’s effort carried no weight on the final scoreboard.
