Injuries
Chicago Bears: LB Noah Sewell left in the third quarter with an ankle injury. DE Joe Tryon-Shoyinka was ruled out with a concussion during the game. WR Olamide Zaccheaus was a late scratch with an illness and did not play.
San Francisco 49ers: LT Trent Williams suffered a hamstring injury on the opening play and never returned. TE George Kittle was inactive with an ankle injury. CB Upton Stout left in the second half with a concussion.
The 42-38 final stands as one of the highest-scoring regular season games of the 2025 NFL season, with both quarterbacks finishing above a 100 passer rating and both teams topping 7.0 yards per play. San Francisco’s ground game proved the decisive separation: McCaffrey and Purdy combined for 168 rushing yards and three touchdowns on the ground, while the 49ers converted all five red zone trips into touchdowns against a Chicago defense that had no answer in high-leverage situations. Williams finished without a turnover and moved the ball freely all night, but the Bears’ 1-for-3 red zone conversion rate against San Francisco’s perfect 5-for-5 was the margin in what was otherwise one of the most evenly matched games of the 2025 NFC regular season.
