Bijan Robinson needed 142 scrimmage yards to become the third player in Falcons history to reach 2,000 in a single season. He finished with 168.
Robinson ran 16 times for 76 yards and caught seven passes for 92 more as the Atlanta Falcons came back from a 10-point first-quarter deficit to beat the Arizona Cardinals 26-19 at State Farm Stadium in Glendale on December 21, 2025. The win was Atlanta’s second straight on the road, moving the Falcons to 6-9. Arizona dropped to 3-12 with its seventh consecutive loss.
The Cardinals led 10-0 after the first quarter on a Chad Ryland 50-yard field goal and Michael Wilson’s 32-yard touchdown catch from Jacoby Brissett. Atlanta fought back to tie it 16-16 on a Kyle Pitts five-yard touchdown catch with 25 seconds left in the second quarter, though Calais Campbell blocked the extra point to keep the halftime score level. The Falcons then outscored Arizona 10-3 in the second half, with a Kirk Cousins 1-yard touchdown run early in the fourth quarter extending the lead to 26-16. Cornerback C.J. Henderson, elevated from the practice squad the day before kickoff, made a diving interception of Brissett with 1:30 remaining to close it out.

Robinson entered the game averaging 132.7 scrimmage yards per game, the most in the NFL through Week 15. His 168-yard afternoon in Glendale, where he grew up and attended high school in nearby Tucson, pushed his 2025 total to 2,026, putting him alongside Jamal Anderson, who had 2,083 in 1998, and William Andrews, who reached 2,000 twice, in 1981 and in 1983. “That’s a real-deal stat, doing 2,000 from scrimmage,” Cousins said after the game. “It’s hard to do if you’re not healthy, so the fact that he’s durable enough to do it is a big deal.” Robinson would go on to finish the 2025 season with 2,298 scrimmage yards, breaking Andrews’ 42-year-old franchise record in Week 17 against the Los Angeles Rams.
The gap between what Arizona generated in yardage and what it put on the board tells the story of the afternoon as much as anything in the box score. The Cardinals moved the ball well enough, totaling 320 yards, but converted zero of two red zone possessions into touchdowns and settled for Chad Ryland field goals both times. Ryland accounted for all 13 of Arizona’s points, four field goals against two misses, while Brissett finished with a 69.7 passer rating in his 10th start for the Cardinals, dropping the team to 1-9 in that stretch. Cardinals coach Jonathan Gannon put the failure plainly: “I thought a key component of the game is that we moved it, but had to settle for some field goals. They converted some touchdowns.”
Henderson caught the last pass of the afternoon, a Brissett throw intended for Michael Wilson at the Atlanta 37-yard line with 1:30 on the clock. Less than 36 hours earlier, he had been on the practice squad. Falcons coach Raheem Morris, asked what back-to-back road wins had shown about his team, kept his answer short: “It shows guys what this team should look like on a consistent basis, every time we’re out there.”
Data sourced from ESPN, Pro Football Reference, and Pro Football Focus. PFF grades are initial and subject to review. Snap counts are unofficial.
